Finance Committee Minutes April 7 , 1987 Page 2 . 0 There are 5 Articles for land acquisition . Three of the parcels border the Austin property and Santuit Pond . They carry the following prices , $24 , 750 , $3 , 300 , and $39 , 600 . This land represents a possible well site for the town and these acquisitiors of land would protect the site . More information on this will be available prior to the meeting . Secondly , if this land should be developed the pond will die and become ,polluted . The fourth piece of land is the River property , no price available as yet . And the last piece of property is the Museum property , which is the land abutting the Museum on the Mashpee River . There is also the possibility that the State may purchase this parcel . • $5 , 225 for a Water Zone II . This would be for the establishment of water sources . Test wells would be drilled and pumped and monitored to see how the water drains down in the land , the area of delineation is the Zone II area . The Executive Secretary noted that he did not recommend that the Assistant Town Planner $23 , 408 be an override item . The Chairman of the Finance Committee noted that in an attempt to keep the omd'ibus budget low , it was their recommendation that the Assistant Town Planner position be contingent on a 22 override . Ernie Virgilio , the DPW Director appeared before the Finance Committee to discuss the DPW article for the acquisition of four trucks for the department , total price $117 , 000. • One large dump/sander , 5--7 yard truck One small dump truck , 4x4 , sander/plow • One 4x4 pickup truck with plow • One 5 passenger truck - Chevy Blazer A Request for Transfer , in the amount of $413 . 85 discussed at the Finance Committee meeting of April 1 , 1987 for the DPW was withdrawn at Ernie ' s request . Jane LaBute , the Town Clerk , joined the Finance Committee to discuss her Article for $9 , 623 . This Article would change a part-time position , 20 hours to a full-time position . Jane stated that she needs help with the census work . She noted that the town will eventually have to be divided into precints 'and that will entail two separate voter lists . The Finance Committee questioned if another part-time person would be adequate . The reason being the cost would be considerably less , as a 15-hour position would entail no benefits . Jane indicated that this would do . It was noted when the computer comes on-line it will help with the workload .
