2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 5, 2001 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Authorization to Declare a State of Emergency: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to place the above topic <br /> on the Selectmen's agenda. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> In consensus, the Selectmen declared a State of Emergency for the <br /> Town of Mashpee. The Chairman of the Board was empowered to <br /> execute such declaration on behalf of the Selectmen as a result of the <br /> ongoing winter storm. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> i <br /> Assistant Town Planner Position: <br /> A brief discussion followed with respect to the Assistant Town Planner <br /> position. There has been little response to the advertisement due to the <br /> combination of job qualifications. (Assistant Town PlannerlGIS <br /> Specialist) The need for additional data processing support in combination <br /> with the expertise of a GIS specialist was considered. The matter will be <br /> discussed with the Town Planner and be placed on a future agenda of the <br /> Board of Selectmen for continued discussion. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> FY02 Budget Workshop <br /> The Board of Selectmen conducted a workshop session for the purpose of <br /> reviewing the budget pertaining to fiscal year 2002. In addition to the line <br /> item budget,the Board received copies of the Capital Improvement <br /> Program budget, a revised budget of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and a <br /> revised pie-chart of the School FY02 budget. <br /> Several line items were placed on hold for additional review.
