Finance Committee Minutes <br /> September 30 , 1987 <br /> Page 3 . <br /> I <br /> department . These funds would be used for office help while they <br /> are looking for a temporary agent . Finance Committee members <br /> were unanimous in their approval of this Article . <br /> Article #10 seeks to appropriate and transfer money from <br /> the Assessors Clerical Salary Account to the Assessors Wages <br /> Account . Murphy noted that the money figure is not yet in . <br /> Article #11 seeks to transfer $500 from the Conservation <br /> Officer Salary Account to the Board Secretaries Account to be used <br /> for the Conservation Commission secretary . Murphy noted that a <br /> new Conservation Officer has been hired . However , additional <br /> secretarial monies were required between the former and the new <br /> agent . <br /> Article #12 seeks to appropriate and transfer $1 , 338 from the <br /> Police Expense Account to the Out—of—State Travel Account . The <br /> Board of Selectmen gave approval for the firearms instructor to <br /> attend the national conference which was held out of state . <br /> Article #13 seeks to appropriate and transfer $600 from the <br /> Cablevision Committee Expense Acccount to the Board Secretaries <br /> Account to be used by the Cablevision Committee for secretarial <br /> services . The Executive Secretary noted that the funds would come <br /> from within the Cablevision ' s own expense budget . <br /> Article #14 seeks to appropriate and transfer a sum of money <br /> from the Fire Chief Salary Account and a sum of money from the <br /> Revenue Available for Appropriation Account or other available <br /> funds to the Fire Department Wages Account . Representatives of <br /> the Fire Department were on—hand to explain to all present the <br /> situation of the Fire Department . The figure of $43 , 000 was <br /> arrived at after much discussion . But then the Selectmen and <br /> Finance Committee had to figure out where to get the $43 , 000 to <br /> keep the fire department in operation . Joseph Murphy suggested <br /> the following : as no Chief has been hired as of date $15 , 000 or <br /> thereabouts might be available from the Chiefs Salary Account , <br /> 6 , 000 might come from the Briarwood debt issuance cost , leaving <br /> a need for $22 , 000 more . Jean Thomas asked that $22 , 000 come from <br /> free cash , leaving only $17 , 000 in this account . Selectman Lawrence <br /> emphasized that if the decision were made to give the department <br /> the $43 , 000 this level must be strictly maintained till June 30th <br /> to insure that the Fire Department will not be coming back for <br /> more money and taking it away from everyone else . Jean Thomas noted <br /> that unforseen events can ' t be predicted , but this is the best <br /> prediction . The Executive Secretary stated that he would check <br /> into the figures . <br /> Article #15 seeks to appropriate and transfer a sum of money <br /> from available funds to the Fire Deparmtne Expense Account to <br /> offset the repair and upkeep of the Fire Department vehicles due <br />
