Board of Selectmen <br /> March 12,2001 <br /> Page Thirteen. <br /> May Town Meeting,Review(continued) <br /> Article 8—Outreach Assistant position—deleted <br /> Article 9—Mini-van driver position. Discussion followed regarding creating the fiull- <br /> time driver position with no money to fund it. <br /> Motion matte by Selectman Taylor to remove the article to create the position of <br /> full-time Minivan Driver for the Council on Aging. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green, <br /> All in favor except Selectman Cahalane who abstained. <br /> Further discussion followed and the Town Administrator explained the situation. They <br /> have one part-time driver who is very stable and one who may be leaving. If they create <br /> the position and half way through the year they have a vacancy they can convert 2 part- <br /> time drivers into one full-time. The Selectmen agreed they do not want to get into <br /> creating a full-time position with benefits at this time. <br /> Selectman Cahalane withdrew his abstention. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0 <br /> Article 10-Trash budget—part-time clerical position. <br /> Discussion followed and the BOS agreed to wait to see what happens at the Board of <br /> Health meeting on Thursday night regarding this position. <br /> The Board of Selectmen agreed to leave on hold. <br /> Article 1 i —Police—2 full-time police officer positions. <br /> The Board of Selectmen agreed to hold until they hear from the Finance Committee. <br /> Article 12—Police-Part-time clerk—The Town Administrator informed the BOS that <br /> the Police Department is not going to fill the full-time clerk position and are asking for a <br /> part-time clerk. The two lieutenants will do administrative duties. <br /> Article 13—Police-Part-time Assistant Animal Control Officer—it is in the budget. <br /> Article 14-Two full time Lieutenant positions—it is in the budget. <br /> Article 15 -Domestic Violence-This is a new item at$2,000—it is not in the budget. <br /> Discussion followed regarding what the funds are being used for and if it could be put <br /> under a budget such as Human Services or Police. <br /> Article 16-Personnel Consultant—requested by the Personnel department to do a wage <br /> update. The Town Administrator explained that there are a large number of requests for <br /> reclassifications. The Personnel Administrator is hesitant to take up all these <br /> reclassifications and would like it done by a Personnel Consultant. It is not a crisis and <br /> the amount would be in the$12,000 to 514,000 range. <br />
