5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 23, 2001 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing cont'd—Underground Storage Tanks: <br /> Selectman Leveille opened the Public Hearing to continue the hearing of <br /> the application of Johnny Hatem for underground fuel storage tanks at 723 <br /> Falmouth Road, Mashpee. <br /> Mr. Hatem was present to discuss the license application. It was noted <br /> that the Board had concerns at their last meeting relative to spill <br /> containment and combustible fluid as the business lies in close proximity <br /> to the Mashpee River. Fire Chief George Baker was in attendance and <br /> recommended the following conditions be considered and listed on the <br /> license application of Mr. Hatem; <br /> Restriction for other uses; up to 500 gallons combustible fuel <br /> and up to 500 gallons waste oil with secondary containment for <br /> each tank. <br /> The restrictions as set forth by the Fire Chief were deemed satisfactory <br /> with the applicant. It was noted that the Fire Department is also involved <br /> with the permitting process and annual inspection process. <br /> Being no comment,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the application of <br /> Johnny Hatem,Hatem Enterprises,Mashpee,Inc., for Underground <br /> Fuel Storage Tanks(one 15,000 gallon unleaded gas tank and one <br /> 8,000 gallon tank split with a double bulkhead to contain 4,000 gallons <br /> of diesel fuel) at 723 Falmouth Road(Route 28),Mashpee to include <br /> the restriction for other uses; up to 500 gallons combustible fuel and <br /> up to 500 gallons waste oil with secondary containment for each tank <br /> as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
