Finance Committee Minutes <br /> July 13 , 1988 <br /> Page 2 . <br /> The Finance Committee proceeded to review the remaining articles <br /> on the Special Town Meeting Warrant . <br /> Article 1 , seeks town approval to raise and appropriate money to <br /> purchase,,and equip a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the Board of Health. <br /> Joe Murphy noted that the bids for this vehicle were not yet in , <br /> however , the maximum cost was estimated to be $12 , 000 . Finance <br /> Committee recommends this article . <br /> Article 2 , seeks town approval to transfer from the Stabilization <br /> Fund money to purchase and equip a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the <br /> Conservation Commission . Bids are not yet in , however the estimated <br /> cost would be under $12 , 000 . Finance Committee recommends approval . <br /> Article 3, seeks town approval to appropriate and transfer from <br /> the Stabilization Fund money to purchase and equip a dump truck <br /> with a plow and sander for the DPW. Estimated cost of this article <br /> would be somewhere around , but not more than $27 , 000. Finance <br /> Committee recommends . <br /> Article 4 , seeks town approval to appropriate $2 , 720 to the Park <br /> and Recreation Department Lifeguard Wage: Account from the Solid <br /> Waste Account . This represents a transfer from one account to <br /> another account . The Park and Rec department did not receive any <br /> money for selling dump stickers . Finance Committee recommends <br /> approval . <br /> Article 5 , seeks town approval to rescind the authorization to <br /> incur indebtedness to acquire a parcel on the northwest side of <br /> Santuit Pond as voted by Article 56 of the May 1987 Annual Town <br /> Meeting . At the 1987 Annual Town Meeting the town authorized <br /> purchase of this parcel of land outside Prop . 22. $34 , 000 was <br /> appropriated . The owners of the land objected and refused to sell . <br /> The money is now available for transfer and can be transferred to <br /> another account or revert to the treasurer . The bonding authorization <br /> will be rescinded . Finance Committee recommends . <br /> jArticle 6 , seeks town approval to accept a gift from the Forward <br /> Development Corporation . The town would receive land and or easements <br /> to run water lines . The Finance Committee recommends approval . <br /> i <br /> Article 7 , seeks town approval to raise and appropriate or appropriate <br /> and transfer money to determine the feasibility of converting the <br /> Davis School into a Town Hall or to build or lease a new Town Hall . <br /> This article seeks funds to study town hall needs and represents a <br /> consultant fee . Estimated cost of this article is $20, 000 to $28 , 000 . <br /> The Finance Committee can not recommend this article without a <br /> price , their recommendation will be made on town meeting floor . <br /> i <br /> I <br /> Article 8 , seeks town approval to raise and appropriate , appropriate <br /> N and transfer , or appropriate and incur indebtedness of funds to <br /> the Police/Fire Water account to be used -f.or:'the _.installatio.hi )of -.:' <br /> water mains , fire hydrants , and other appurtenances including <br /> plumbing , to provide water to the Police and Fire Stations and <br />
