1 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 20, 2001 <br /> Present: Selectman Cahalane, Selectman Marsters, <br /> Selectman Taylor, Selectman Leveille <br /> Acting Town Administrator Joyce Mason <br /> Absent: Selectman Green <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Cahalane at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room#1. <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Monday, Auuust 6, 2001 Regular and Executive Sessions: <br /> The above referenced minutes were deferred to the next regular meeting. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Dr. Elizabeth Petti distributed a memorandum to the Selectmen in request <br /> of support to proceed with the process of creating a Charter Commission. <br /> To date, Dr. Petti has collected 394 signatures by petition. A minimum of <br /> 1,100 signatures is required to place a petition article on the Town ballot. <br /> Support of Charter Commission: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to place the above referenced topic <br /> on the Selectmen's agenda. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to support the creation of a <br /> Charter Commission as referenced for the May 2002 election ballot <br /> pending the necessary signatures required for petition. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
