Finance Committee <br /> March 7 , 1989 <br /> Page 3 . <br /> for communications that could be earmarked for the Civil Defense <br /> Department . The Chief said that there was some equipment available <br /> that would put him in communication with the police and fire and <br /> they in turn would have to contact the DPW if need be . Carl asked <br /> the Chief to look into this matter , stating that perhaps we could <br /> go another year without purchasing new equipment for Civil Defense . <br /> Carl again expressed that the Finance Committee would inform him <br /> about their budget recommendations in writing sometime in the near <br /> future . Information distributed by the Fire Department regarding <br /> th.e explanation of the 22% increase is attached to these minutes . <br /> The Finance Committee Chairman noted that there is a course <br /> being offered at Cape Cod Community College entitled , "What <br /> Everyone Should Know About Proposition 22 . " The course is being <br /> offered by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue , Wednesday , <br /> April 5th at 6 : 45 p . m. to 9 p . m . Carl urged all to attend if <br /> possible . <br /> The meeting adjourned at 9 : 30 p . m . The next Finance Committee <br /> meeting is March 8th at 7 p . m . <br /> Gail McNabb <br /> Board Secretary <br />
