Finance Committee Minutes <br /> March 13 , 1989 <br /> Page 5 . <br /> It was noted that the Fire Department would not get any <br /> dispatchers , however the Police Department would get three new <br /> dispatchers and that this will be an article . It was also noted <br /> that there will be an article on the warrant for a sergeant to <br /> start in January 1990 and three patrol officers , one to start in <br /> September 1989 and two to start in January 1990 . The full year <br /> estimated cost is $148 , 588 . <br /> Murphy noted that the Inspections Department has withdrawn <br /> their request for a full-time clerk and is now requesting an <br /> 18-hour position . Murphy is recommending that the position be <br /> created but leave money .in the wages account to give the <br /> department flexibility to accommodate full-time staff vacations <br /> and peak-load coverage . <br /> The Animal Control Officer has revised her article to <br /> request a seasonal employee who will provide coverage during the <br /> busier times of the year . The total cost of this position would <br /> be $3 , 242 . The Board of Selectmen were in favor of this . <br /> Murphy noted that the Harbormaster ' s request for a 16-hour <br /> per week clerk had been reduced to an 8 hour position . Murphy <br /> noted that he was not sure about this and questioned whether <br /> this positon could be combined with a permit office operation . <br /> The Finance Committee will meet at 7 p . m . March 15 , to <br /> discuss further the FY90 budget . The meeting adjourned at <br /> 9 p . rn . <br /> Board Secretary <br />
