i $ <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 10, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> John McElhinny Progress Report on Willowbend's Golf Expansion <br /> Plan- <br /> John McElhinney,Executive Vice President of the Willowbend <br /> Development Corporation was present to update the Board on the <br /> nine hole golf expansion proposal. <br /> Mr. McElhinney discussed the progress of the golf course to be primarily <br /> situated south of Quinaquissett Avenue and encompassing a portion of <br /> Sampsons Mill Road. An area of approximately sixty acres. <br /> As noted, the permit application was filed with the Planning Board in <br /> July of 1999. To date, four hearings have been held. Willowbend is <br /> scheduled to meet with the Planning Board and Town Counsel on <br /> Wednesday, January 1.9, 2000 to discuss the terms of the special permit <br /> and other pending issues. A representative of the Board of Selectmen was <br /> invited to attend the meeting. <br /> A hearing is scheduled with the Cape Cod Commission on Tuesday, <br /> January 25, 2000 to identify areas to be studied. It was noted that a <br /> significant environmental benefit of the project is the capacity of <br /> Willowbend to sewer the Cotuit Bay Condominium complex. <br /> There has been wide support from the neighborhood associations. <br /> Construction is expected to commence in the fall of the year 2000. <br /> Shellfish Warden's Training Course: . <br /> Perry Ellis, Harbor Master and Richard York, Shellfish Constable were <br /> present to request the Board authorize the transfer of$700 from the <br /> Waterways.Improvement Account to permit two Assistant Harbor Masters <br /> to attend the Shellfish Warden's Training Course. <br /> It was noted that the two officers have offered to attend the course on <br /> their own time. The expenditure of$700 will support the training <br /> initiative sponsored by the MMA/MIT Sea Grant Program and the <br /> Massachusetts Shellfish Officers Association. <br />
