5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 24, 2000 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Notification of Award: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Massachusetts Municipal <br /> Association dated January 10, 2000 indicating that the Town of Mashpee <br /> is to be the recipient of the 2000 Kenneth E. Pickard Municipal Innovation <br /> Award. The project, "Give Us Shelter", has demonstrated Mashpee's <br /> dedication, commitment and ability to increase the effectiveness of local <br /> government by successfully implementing a unique and creative program. <br /> The Town of Mashpee will receive its award at the MMA Annual Meeting <br /> and Trade Show on January 29, 2000 at the Boston Marriott at Copley <br /> Place. <br /> The Board of Selectmen requested that a letter of appreciation be <br /> forwarded to June Daley, Animal Control Officer for her efforts and <br /> commitment to ""Give Us Shelter". <br /> Notification of Eagle Award Ceremony: <br /> The Board agreed to remit a letter of recognition and ceremonial plaque to <br /> Samuel G. Fulton who will be receiving his Eagle award in Scouting on <br /> January 26, 2000. Sam's Eagle project was the new lifeguard stands being <br /> used at South Cape Beach. <br /> School Committee—Budget Review Session: <br /> Monday, February 7, 2000—7:00 p.m. <br /> Selectmen's Regular Meeting <br /> Budget Workshop Sessions: <br /> Thursday, February 10, 2000—6:30 p.m. <br /> Thursday, February 17, 2000 6.30 p.m. <br /> The Selectmen are to receive their budget packets prior to the above <br /> referenced meeting dates. <br />
