2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 28, 2000 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Letter from Richard& Shirley Henshall—Departmental Praise: <br /> The Board received a letter of appreciation from Richard and Shirley <br /> Henshall dated February 1.5, 2000 in appreciation to various Town <br /> departments who were helpful and courteous during the demolition <br /> and construction of their new home. As a result,they are looking forward <br /> to becoming permanent Mashpee residents. <br /> A copy of the letter will be submitted to all applicable departments in <br /> addition to a letter of appreciation from the Board of Selectmen. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Morgan I Peters indicated that the Mashpee Rod& Gun Club is a <br /> non-profit entity and is being taxed for their property as result of precedent <br /> set forth in the Town of Marlboro. <br /> The Board agreed to obtain an opinion from Town Counsel with respect to <br /> this regard. Mr. Peters was requested to consult the Board of Assessors <br /> for additional information relative to this matter. <br /> Shellfish Regulations: <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the Public Hearing on the proposed <br /> Shellfish Regulations for the Year 2000. Joyce Mason, Assistant <br /> Town Administrator read aloud the Public Hearing notice as published. <br /> Selectman Leveille stepped down for the above referenced hearing. <br /> Richard York, Shellfish Constable was present to discuss the <br /> recommended proposal as dated in the memorandum of February 10, <br /> 2000. <br /> Significant changes include and increase in permit fees to fall within the <br /> perimeters of surrounding towns and to fund additional shellfish seeding. <br /> Family Permit: $20 Senior: $5 Non-resident: $65 Commercial: $100 <br />
