3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 28, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS.- <br /> Public Hearin Shellfish Regulations: (continued) <br /> Additional recommended changes to the Shellfish Regulations <br /> include; <br /> Commercial and non-commercial permits will be allowed <br /> to use the non-commercial permit for scallops only from <br /> December 1 through March 31. During this time, commercial <br /> shellfishing is allowed 7 days per week, except that commercial <br /> scalloping is not allowed on Sundays. From April 1 through <br /> November 30, commercial shellfishing is not allowed on Sundays. <br /> The resumption of scallop season through March 31_ <br /> Allowing the use of eel pots to catch eels for non-commercial use. <br /> Eels must be 4" or larger to be taken. <br /> The new proposal also makes it a regulation that people must read <br /> and understand the Shellfish Regulations before they go shellfishing. <br /> Being no comment,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Leveille abstained. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the Shellfish <br /> Regulations as proposed for the year 2000, and reflected in the <br /> memorandum of 2/10/00. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Leveille abstained. <br />
