Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 27, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing—Earl Cash Tani License_ (continued) <br /> With regards to the license of Upper Cape Transportation Corp. dlb/a <br /> Mashpee Taxi, it was noted that in 1997,the applicant requested six <br /> licenses. The Selectmen at this time voted to issue Mashpee Taxi up to <br /> four taxi licenses. if the applicant were to use more than one taxi after <br /> a thirty-day period, the applicant must go before the Board of Selectmen <br /> to increase the taxi permit. Legally, Mashpee Taxi has (1)taxi license. <br /> Mr. Morgan has not requested an increase of his taxi license to date. <br /> The (30) day stipulation is reflected in Section 1. Under Policy No. 24, <br /> Vehicle for Hire Rules and Regulations and Operation thereof under <br /> 1.2 Vehicles for Hire Permits. <br /> John Bartolomei, Jr. suggested the Board take the opportunity to <br /> set forth rules, regulations and limitations as to the number of taxi's <br /> to be allowed in the Town of Mashpee. He noted that a majority of <br /> Cape towns have stopped issuing licenses due to the market saturation. <br /> The Board agreed to consult Sergeant Umina with respect to the Vehicle <br /> for Hire Rules and Regulations and Operation thereof. <br /> With regards to the taxi license of Mashpee Taxi,the Board agreed that <br /> only(1) license has been issued to date. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Blythe to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Blythe to approve the application of <br /> Earl Norwood Cash,Jr., d/b/a Eagle Taxi, for a Taxi License to <br /> operate(1)taxicab at 12 Terry Avenue,Mashpee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
