Board of Selectmen Minutes March 27, 2000 APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: Public Hearing—Earl Cash Tani License_ (continued) With regards to the license of Upper Cape Transportation Corp. dlb/a Mashpee Taxi, it was noted that in 1997,the applicant requested six licenses. The Selectmen at this time voted to issue Mashpee Taxi up to four taxi licenses. if the applicant were to use more than one taxi after a thirty-day period, the applicant must go before the Board of Selectmen to increase the taxi permit. Legally, Mashpee Taxi has (1)taxi license. Mr. Morgan has not requested an increase of his taxi license to date. The (30) day stipulation is reflected in Section 1. Under Policy No. 24, Vehicle for Hire Rules and Regulations and Operation thereof under 1.2 Vehicles for Hire Permits. John Bartolomei, Jr. suggested the Board take the opportunity to set forth rules, regulations and limitations as to the number of taxi's to be allowed in the Town of Mashpee. He noted that a majority of Cape towns have stopped issuing licenses due to the market saturation. The Board agreed to consult Sergeant Umina with respect to the Vehicle for Hire Rules and Regulations and Operation thereof. With regards to the taxi license of Mashpee Taxi,the Board agreed that only(1) license has been issued to date. Motion made by Selectman Blythe to close the Public Hearing. Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Motion made by Selectman Blythe to approve the application of Earl Norwood Cash,Jr., d/b/a Eagle Taxi, for a Taxi License to operate(1)taxicab at 12 Terry Avenue,Mashpee. Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
