' 6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 27, 2000 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Recommendation of Police Officer Candidate: <br /> Upon due diligence, three top-ranked candidates were presented to the <br /> Selectmen for consideration as police officer. Alcott Tobey, Jr. of <br /> Mashpee was deemed an excellent candidate having special police officer <br /> experience and favorable scoring attributes. <br /> Chief PrzybyIek recommended the Board appoint the recommended <br /> candidate contingent upon successful completion of additional testing <br /> such as the physical examination, psychological examination and police <br /> academy training. It was noted that the police academy training date <br /> would be determined at the end of April and/or early May upon approval <br /> from the MA Criminal Justice Academy. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to appoint Alcott Tobey,Jr. <br /> to fill the vacant Police Officer position as stipulated. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> The Chief was requested to remit a report to the Selectmen relative to <br /> the weighted scoring system under the Town's new Police Recruitment <br /> Policy. <br /> Request for Mashpge Commons Security Personnel to Issue Parkin <br /> Tickets: <br /> With regards to the issuance of parking tickets by Mashpee Commons <br /> Security Personnel, Chief Przybylek recommended the Board limit the <br /> criteria of the violations and schedule of fines to; <br /> Within 10' of Fire Hydrant <br /> Upon a Crosswalk, Sidewalk,Bikeway <br /> Less than 10' Unobstructed Lane <br /> Across Private Road or Driveway <br /> Fire Lane <br /> The above recommendation refers to violation Items no. 1,3,7,8 and 17. <br /> It was noted that the"Parking Control Officer" program has been working <br /> effectively at Mashpee Commons since it was initiated in mid April of <br /> 1999. <br />
