MA 02649 <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> February 27, 1991 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Carole Dunivan, John Ferriday, Tony Gallo, Deirdre Greelish, <br /> Carl Heller, Vern Polka and Jim Vaccaro <br /> The Finance Committee meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Chairman Vaccaro noted a revision to the minutes of February 20th. <br /> On- page 2.,, paragraph 1. the sentence "This would include the half-time <br /> salary of$13,000 for the clerk." should be amended to read "This would <br /> include the 20-hour per week salary of $13,000 for the clerk." Carole <br /> motioned the amended minutes be approved. The motion was 'seconded by <br /> Tony and there was unanimous approval. The minutes of February 25th <br /> will be considered•at the next meeting to allow members time to:review them. <br /> Jim noted several pieces of correspondence. The Town Clerk has <br /> informed the Committee that Carole Dunivan's term expires at the end of <br /> this election year. There were also letters of support for keeping the <br /> position of Director of Council on Aging a full-time position. <br /> The schedule of meetings for March is as follows: <br /> March 5th - finalize and send out preliminary budget recommendations <br /> March 12th Finance Committee will meet with department heads. Each will <br /> March 14th be allowed '20 min. A schedule of these-- meetings will be <br /> March 19th available if Selectmen would like to attend: <br /> March 21st -Final Finance Committee budget recommendations <br /> Jim reviewed a draft of the letter that will be distributed to the <br /> department heads stating the preliminary budget recommendations and the <br /> procedure for meeting with their liaisons or the Committee. Members <br /> approved of the draft. <br /> The Finance Committee took a short recess prior to the convening of <br /> the joint meeting with the Selectmen at 7 p.m. <br /> The Selectmen and the Executive Secretary joined the Finance Committee <br /> meeting at 7 p.m. Chairman Vaccaro distributed a memorandum "Notable <br /> Differences Between Prelimary FinCom Recommendations and Recommendations of <br /> the Board of Selectmen." A copy of this memorandum is attached. Jim <br /> reviewed the information noting the difference in the Committee's <br /> projected revenue and that of the Board of Selectmen and also items not <br /> included in the Board of Selectmen's.recommendations, and the notable <br /> differences in recommendations: <br />
