Chairman Vaccaro informed <br /> the Selectmen that they were welcome to attend the meetings with the <br /> department heads and a schedule will be available stating what departments <br /> will be at secheduled Finance Committee meetings. He stressed that in view <br /> of the deadline it was important for the Finance Committee to proceed with <br /> the budget reviews. Selectman Gottlieb felt there was room for discussion <br /> about the cuts that had been recommended and priorities. His concern was <br /> will the recommended funding let departments operate as they should and <br /> allow them to be worthwhile. Gottlieb's particular concerns were the <br /> Harbormaster, Shellfish, Conservation, Assessors, and Treaurer's budgets. <br /> He stated that there may be a need for additional funding or recasting of <br /> departments. Chairman Vaccaro stressed that these recommendations are <br /> prelimary and that they can be changed. <br /> Jim noted that the Finance Committee has set aside $87,000 for articles, <br /> excluding Cape Tech, COLAs and Veterans Services. Carter stated that the <br /> Selectmen will review the articles and get back to the Finance Committee <br /> with their recommendations. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 8 p.m.. <br /> Board Secretary <br />
