TO :
FROM: Jim Vaccaro, Chairman
Finance Committee
SUBJ : FY 92 Preliminary Budget Recommendations
DATE: March 5, 1991
The Finance Committee has determined a preliminary FY 92 budget
recommendation for your department as listed below. It need not be
repeated that our Town is facing a bleak financial outlook for the
upcoming fiscal year and that our ultimate recommendations will not be
easy for us to make nor for our departments to live with .
During the next three weeks the Finance Committee will be finalizing
its recommendations . YIf you have concerns or suggestions you may:
(1 ) contact your FINCOM Liaison and discuss the impact of the
preliminary budget. The liaison will bring your concerns back to the
Committee with a recommendation.
(2) make an appointment to meet with the full Committee. Appointments
will be limited to twenty minutes. If you feel you need more time,
you should meet in advance with your FINCOM liaison . Either you or a
designee should be the sole spokesman for your department when you
meet with the full Committee. You are, of course, welcome to bring
along as many others as you desire, but only one spokesman will be
recognized . To arrange an appointment with the full Committee, please
contact me during business hours at 477-7777 .
It would be helpful if you provide each Committee member with
documentation relative to your concerns. Such documentation should
specifically indicate factors relative to lost revenues and other
financial considerations as well as explicit details concerning the
elimination of or diminished levels of services. Please do not
provide us with additional copies of information you have .previously
submitted to the FINCOM or to Kevin Farrington . Kevin has provided us
with copies of the impact statements you sent to him.
Departments will not be "penalized" for opting not to meet again with
their liaison or with the full Committee. No further reductions will
be made to any department' s budget without consultation with the head
of that department.
PRELIMINARY BUDGET RECOMMENDATION for FY 92:
Salary - Elected
Salary & Wage
Expense
Capital
TOTAL
