Finance Committee Minutes <br /> May 6, 1991 <br /> Page 2. <br /> The Finance Committee addressed the Special Town Meeting Articles 10, 11, <br /> 12. Article 12 for the Fire contract will be indefinitely postponed. Article <br /> 10 is for the Police Patrolmen's contract. The settlement called for a <br /> 7% raise in 90, a 2% raise in 91 and a 4% raise in 92. The money is needed <br /> to fund the FY90 and FY91 contract and $81,642 will be taken from revenue <br /> available. Tony motioned for approval of Article 10 and John seconded the <br /> motion. There,-was unanimous approval to recommend Article 10. Article 11 is <br /> to fund the Sergeants Association and the settlement was the same as the <br /> Patrolmen's contract percentages. The cost would be $22,572. Carole motioned <br /> for approval and John seconded the motion. There was unanimous approval of <br /> Article 11. <br /> The Finance Committee will have to amend the FY92 omnibus to fund the <br /> additional cost of the Police contracts, Line #50. John Ferriday motioned <br /> that Line Item 50 be amended to read $1,303,564. Tony seconded the motion. <br /> There was a unanimous vote of approval. <br /> Jim questioned the Committee about their position on CLAMS and the <br /> Human Service Articles if money should be available. He noted that <br /> approximately $9,000 will be available if all goes as planned. He stated <br /> that this would be enough to fund half of the Human Service Articles. Kevin <br /> Harrington had previously informed the Finance Committee that money would <br /> not be released to any of these agencies unless the appropriate information <br /> was provided to the town.._ Jim stated that he felt it• would;:show compassion <br /> to half-fund. Tony motioned that if money should be available the Finance <br /> Committee recommend that the Human Service Articles be half-funded. John <br /> seconded the motion. The motion carried 3 to 2. The two opposing votes were <br /> cast by Carole and Carl. <br /> The Finance Committee agreed to keep their position on the school budget <br /> leaving their recommendation at $4,950,000. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m. <br /> Board Secretary <br />
