Finance Committee Minutes May 20 , 1991 Page 3 . Deirdre noted that the Committee had taken $20 ,000 from the Selectmen' s budget for the rent at Deer Crossing. It may be that they move back to Town Hall and the school might need the space. Deirdre noted that the +a� Committee should be aware of this situation. Members addressed two Requests for Transfer from the Reserve Account . The Town Clerk has submitted a request for $2 , 450 . 37 to pay for the zoning update . Tony motioned that the Committee recommend this transfer and Deirdre seconded the motion. All members were in favor. Anne Shaw, the Treasurer/Tax Collector has submitted a request in the amount of $2 ,150 to cover unemployment costs for the month of April. Tony motioned that the Committee recommend and Tom seconded. All members voted in favor of this request . Jim noted that Finance Committee Liaisons will be set up. .Tim asked if any of the members had a preference for a particular department. Al noted that he would like to be the liaison to the school . Jim stressed that it was important for the liaisons to start early and get to know their department. Liaisons do a lot of the "leg work" and report their findings to the Committee . He stated that it is possible that the departments may have to submit two budgets. one with an override and one without. Al motioned that the Finance Committee send letters of recognition and appreciation to Carole, Vern, and Carl for their hard work as members of the Finance Committee. Tony seconded this motion and all members agreed. �1 Polsi expressed his concern about the Water District. He expressed his belief that there should be some sort of Prudential Committee in place . He questioned whether the Finance Committee should check into the accountability of the Water District . Jim suggested finding out what would have to be done to amend t'.,e charter to establish a Prudential Committee for financial accountability. Deirdre motioned that _,1 sheen into this and Tony seconded the motion. All members t---ere in agreement . Jim stated that there is noting official the Finance Committee can do.
