department asked for $84 ,500 for a pumper, a suburban van and a
pickup truck. Mr. Gallo felt that the capital expenditure account
should be pulled together and if a certain department needs a
capital expenditure, they will need to review it with the Board of
Selectmen and then with the Finance Committee. Mr. Gallo was not
comfortable with the idea of giving the fire department, a lump sum
of $84,500. Mr. Gallo also indicated that town meeting would still
have the final say. Ms. Greelish stated that the question is
whether the single article is the better policy or the lump sum
under the control of the selectmen and the Finance Committee is the
better policy? Members did not like the idea of the Board of
Selectmen getting a lump sum without stating specifically what the
monies would be for.
MOTIONS
Deidre Greelish motioned for the sum of $200,000 to be transferred
from the Falmouth Tuition Account to the Stabilization Trust
Account. Dan Goggin seconded the motion. Members voted and it was
a unanimous vote 7-0 that this be transferred. The Article was
dated March 3, 1992 and submitted to the Board of Selectmen.
Ed Baker motioned to transfer $1,000 from the Finance Committee
Reserve Account to the Town Clerk's Salary and Wage Account, for
hardships that the department is enduring. John Ferriday seconded
the motion, and members voted unanimously 7-0 for the transfer.
The agenda for Wednesday, March 4, 1992 is the remaining
departmental budgets.
