Is there any overlapping with the town hall and <br /> the Board of Selectmen? <br /> Members again discussed the "floating clerk" . They agreed that <br /> this floating clerk is still needed in the town hall. Mr. Goggin <br /> asked Mr. Gallo to investigate these three authorized positions <br /> from town meeting regarding the clerks at the police station. <br /> Members agreed that $8,800 should be transferred into the Personnel <br /> Account for the floating clerk. Dan Goggin was going to speak to <br /> Marilyn Farren about this. <br /> BUDGET - School <br /> John Ferriday is the liaison for the school department. Tony Gallo <br /> stepped down from this discussion. Members discussed Cape Cod <br /> Technical School. The discussion involved questions regarding cost <br /> per student, and the high price. Mr. Baker asked John Ferridy to <br /> get some figures on the regional school and asked how much it would <br /> cost as an exit fee? Mr. Goggin questioned special education <br /> expenses. Members also discussed teachers' salaries and other line <br /> item expenses. Ms. Greelish asked Mr. Ferriday whether he is <br /> considering recommending a budget below $5,300,000. Mr. Ferriday <br /> felt that we should leave the budget alone until the very end and <br /> see what exactly is needed and what we are short. Mr. Goggin <br /> indicated that we should come up with the best budget we can for <br /> the school department. Mr. Goggin felt that they should continue <br /> doing what they are doing, not cut out any programs. Mr. Goggin <br /> asked about the cafeteria expenses and the employees who work <br /> there. Mr. Polsi asked about the adding of teacher's aides. John <br /> Ferriday stated that as far as he knew the only staff that was <br /> being added was a 1/2 kindergarten teacher, a second grade teacher <br /> and a seventh grade math teacher. Mr. Ferriday indicated that the <br /> school is recommending For their budget, $1,380,875 for expenses <br /> and $3,943,125 for salaries and wages for a total of $5, 324,000. <br /> The agenda for Wednesday, March 11, 1992 was to continue discussion <br /> of the school budget.
