MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> MARCH 18, 1992 <br /> MEETING COMMENCED AT 7:00 P.M. <br /> Members Present: Tony Gallo, Chairman; Deidre Greelish; Al Polsi; <br /> Dan Goggins John Ferriday; Ed Baker and Denise Sullivan. <br /> MINUTES <br /> MOTION by Deidre Greelish seconded by John Ferriday to accept the <br /> minutes of March 10, 1992 and March 11, 1992 as printed. Members <br /> voted unanimously 7-0 to accept the minutes as printed. <br /> John Ferriday indicated that he would not be present at the meeting <br /> tomorrow night dated March 19th. <br /> Deidre Greelish stated that the Selectmen's Budget is level funded <br /> and the total budget recommended by the Finance Committee was <br /> $124,267. Their salary request this year was up over $1,000. The <br /> Finance Committee recommended that the $1,000 be taken out of their <br /> expenses, which total $13,449. The salary budget request remains <br /> the same $108,318. The elected salary or capital expense remains <br /> $2,500. <br /> Tony Gallo explained that he had received a telephone call today <br /> regarding the Department of Public Works and he had spoke to Al <br /> Polsi regarding the situation. There were two trucks, whose <br /> engines burnt out and their was a request for repair. Mr. Gallo <br /> indicated that he spoke with Kevin Harrington also regarding the <br /> situation and he told Mr. Taylor to indicate the amount needed and <br /> present it to the Board of Selectmen on Thursday for a vote of <br /> approval. Mr. Harrington stated that he would take the amount <br /> needed from the 5% ($30,000) that was put aside. Mr. Polsi stated <br /> that Mr. Taylor was leaving town and would submit the amount at the <br /> meeting next Thursday. Mr. Gallo asked the committee their <br /> feelings regarding this situation. Committee members agreed that <br /> if the trucks needed repair, they needed repair and the money <br /> should be approved. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Tony Gallo discussed the "floating clerk" with the committee. Mr. <br /> Gallo indicated that there had been no work for her at the time and <br /> the Executive Secretary asked the police Department if they could <br /> utilize her in their department. The Board of Selectmen voted to <br /> send her over there. She was no longer a floater. The police <br /> department has been taking her salary out of their budget and Mr. <br /> Gallo is not sure that Personnel has the money to do that. Ms. <br /> Greelish stated that we have already cut the police budget <br /> $30,000+. A member mentioned that we did transfer $8,800 to <br /> Personnel last week. Mr. Goggin stated that we did not add $8,800 <br /> but $5,984. He stated that we only funded 14 hours, but that we <br />
