MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> APRIL 1 , 1992 <br /> MEETING COMMENCED AT 7:00 P.M. <br /> Members Present: Tony Gallo, Chairman; Deidre Greelish; Al Polsi; <br /> Dan Goggin; John Ferriday; Ed Baker and Denise Sullivan. <br /> Members met at 7:00 P.M. , prior to their meeting with the Board of <br /> Selectmen at 7:30 P.M. <br /> BUDGET - Conservation <br /> Dan Goggin MOTIONED that $2,193 be appropriated out of the <br /> Conservation Reserve Account to fund the requested part time <br /> clerk's position. Denise Sullivan seconded the motion and members <br /> voted, 4-2, Deidre Greelish and Tony Gallo opposing. John Ferriday <br /> abstained fom voting. This brings their total budget request to <br /> $58, 307. 37. $53 ,841 .34 for salary and wage and $4,466.03 for <br /> expense. <br /> BUDGET - Leisure Services <br /> Ed Baker MOTIONED that the Leisure Service's budget remain the same <br /> as recommended by the Finance Committee liaison. The amount <br /> recommended was $75,149. John Ferriday seconded the motion. <br /> Members discussed Mr. Baker's reasons again for his recommended 4% <br /> cut. <br /> Ed Baker MOTIONED to cut $2,500 off the gate attendant's wages and <br /> 4% out of expenses. Denise Sullivan seconded the motion. Members <br /> voted two in agreement of the motion and five opposed. <br /> Deidre Greelish MOTIONED to reinstate the $2,500 cut in salary to <br /> bring salary and wage back up to $62 ,494 and to leave the expenses <br /> at $15,155 for a total of $77,649. Dan Goggin seconded the motion <br /> and members voted unanimously 7-0 in favor. <br /> BUDGET - Assessors <br /> Denise Sullivan stepped down from this discussion. Dan Goggin <br /> MOTIONED to raise each assessor's elected salary to $900 from $300. <br /> Deidre Greelish seconded the motion. Members voted 6-0 in favor <br /> totalling $2 ,700 rather than $900 in elected. Tony Gallo again <br /> mentioned that he felt it was an internal problem, and that <br /> increasing the salary would not solve the problem. <br /> BUDGET - Police <br /> Deidre Greelish MOTIONED to add another cruiser to the original <br /> recommendation, making the total cruisers recommended two. Dan <br /> Goggin seconded the motion. Members voted, 3-4, 3 in approval and <br />
