MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
MAY 20, 1992
MEETING COMMENCED AT 7:00 P.M.
Members Present: Deirdre Greelish, Chairperson; Dan Goggin; Tony
Gallo, Ed Baker; Denise Sullivan and Roger Dunivan.
MINUTES:
Dan Goggin motioned to accept the minutes of May 13, 1990. Ed
Baker seconded the motion and the minutes were accepted as written
by a unanimous vote of 6-0.
Reserve Fund Balance: $107 ,784.40.
OLD BUSINESS
Steven Greelish, Board of Health, was present at the meeting and
discussed the request for transfer from the department. Deirdre
Greelish stepped down from the discussion. The department needs
this money for its assistant agent, so that he may work full time
through June 30, 1992. The money
requested also includes $80 for a hand held tape recorder and $150
for increased mileage expenses.
Members agreed to wait until they have an opinion form Joseph
Reardon, Town Counsel, to vote on the transfer. Members agreed
that Dan GOgC.;in vice chairman, should call Town Counsel ,- because
s. Greelish ' s unable to.
NEW BUSINESS
The new shellfish warden was also present at the meeting. His name
is Rick York. He was there only to ask for clarification regarding
additional gauges for the shellfish department. Mr. York was under
the impression that after the first 100 gauges were bought by the
shellfish department at $1.75 a piece, the department would be able
to make a request from the Finance Committee to transfer money from
their revolving account to purchase more. Members explained that
this is not the case and Mr. York stated that he felt 100 gauges
would be enough, he just wanted clarification. He had previously
spoken to Kevin Harrington.
Members then discussed a memo from Chief Ridgeway requesting a
meeting between the Fire and Rescue Department and the Finance
Committee to clear up a concern that a Finance Committee member is
investigating a private ambulance company.
