1 Board of Selectmen Minutes March 30, 2000 Present: Selectman Marsters, Selectman Leveille, Selectman Taylor, Selectman Cahalane, Selectman Blythe Town Administrator Robert Whritenour Assistant Town Administrator Joyce Mason Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Marsters at 6:05 p.m. Town Hall, Conference Room 91. APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: Board of Health—Transfer Station: The Board of Selectmen met with the Board of Health Agent, Elias McQuaid, and Board of Health member, Robert Cram to discuss the present operation of the Transfer Station, Maurice Cassanelli and Raymond Esper from Coastal Waste Management, Inc. and Roger Alcott of Weston and Sampson Engineers, Inc. were also in attendance. The Board of Health, at their meeting on March 9, 2000 voted to request the Selectmen consider the issue of a change order request by the contractor based on correspondence received from Town Counsel dated March 7, 2000. The contractor, Coastal Waste Management (CWM) has requested that a contract amendment be approved to fund additional trailers to handle the tonnage that is trucked to the Massachusetts Military Reservation and then hauled to the SEMASS incinerators. The agreement between the Town of Mashpee and Coastal Waste Management, Inc. for the operation of the Ashers Path Solid Waste Transfer Station was reviewed. Addendum No. 1 as agreed upon required"a minimum of(2) 100 cubic yard open top trailers, with one backup available, and if necessary,the contractor shall provide additional 100 cubic yard open top trailers to handle variations in the waste stream." Based upon the information contained in Addendum No. 1, the Selectmen agreed that the contractor shall provide (3)trailers.
