1 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 30, 2000 <br /> Present: Selectman Marsters, Selectman Leveille, Selectman Taylor, <br /> Selectman Cahalane, Selectman Blythe <br /> Town Administrator Robert Whritenour <br /> Assistant Town Administrator Joyce Mason <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Marsters at 6:05 p.m. <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room 91. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Board of Health—Transfer Station: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with the Board of Health Agent, <br /> Elias McQuaid, and Board of Health member, Robert Cram to discuss the <br /> present operation of the Transfer Station, <br /> Maurice Cassanelli and Raymond Esper from <br /> Coastal Waste Management, Inc. and Roger Alcott of <br /> Weston and Sampson Engineers, Inc. were also in attendance. <br /> The Board of Health, at their meeting on March 9, 2000 voted to <br /> request the Selectmen consider the issue of a change order request by <br /> the contractor based on correspondence received from Town Counsel <br /> dated March 7, 2000. <br /> The contractor, Coastal Waste Management (CWM) has requested <br /> that a contract amendment be approved to fund additional trailers to <br /> handle the tonnage that is trucked to the Massachusetts Military <br /> Reservation and then hauled to the SEMASS incinerators. <br /> The agreement between the Town of Mashpee and Coastal <br /> Waste Management, Inc. for the operation of the Ashers Path <br /> Solid Waste Transfer Station was reviewed. <br /> Addendum No. 1 as agreed upon required"a minimum of(2) <br /> 100 cubic yard open top trailers, with one backup available, and if <br /> necessary,the contractor shall provide additional 100 cubic yard open top <br /> trailers to handle variations in the waste stream." <br /> Based upon the information contained in Addendum No. 1, the <br /> Selectmen agreed that the contractor shall provide (3)trailers. <br />
