3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 30, 2000 <br /> Board of Health—Transfer Station: <br /> The Selectmen agreed to negotiate an amendment for the operation of the <br /> Ashers Path Solid Waste Transfer Station with Coastal Waste <br /> Management, Inc. for(1)additional trailer. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Blythe to approve an amendment to <br /> the Agreement between the Town of Mashpee and Coastal Waste <br /> Management, Inc. to increase the contract sum by an additional <br /> $35,000 per year for the next four years effective; 7/1/2000 subject to <br /> legal review and approval. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor abstained: <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the daily issues pertaining to the <br /> operation of the Transfer Station. A chain of command was considered. <br /> The involvement of the Department of Public Works was also considered. <br /> Increased communication was deemed the key to ensure proper success in <br /> handling administrative procedures and supervisory issues. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to agree to relinquish control over <br /> the Transfer Station, and set a date of June 1,2000 reach consensus to <br /> effectively manage and supervise such a transfer. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> As a result of the present budget configuration,the above motion as set <br /> forth by the Board of Selectmen is contingent upon the approval of the <br /> Board of Health prior to a vote of Town Meeting. <br /> The Selectmen reviewed several outstanding bills for payment to Coastal <br /> Waste Management, Inc. The contractor agreed to delete the (2) payment <br /> requisitions in the amount of$600 each for manpower and additional <br /> loads during the winter holiday season. <br />
