Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 19, 2000 <br /> Present: Selectman Leveille, Selectman Cahalane, <br /> Selectman Taylor, Selectman Green <br /> Town Administrator Robert Whritenour <br /> Assistant Town Administrator Joyce Mason <br /> Absent: Selectman Marsters <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Leveille at 6:30 p-m. <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room 41. <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Monday,May 22 2000 Regular and Executive Sessions: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the Regular and <br /> Executive Session minutes of Monday,May 22, 2000 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cabalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Monday, June 5 2000 Regular and Executive Sessions: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the Regular and <br /> Executive Session minutes of Monday,June 5, 2000 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Glenn Marshall, President of the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Tribal <br /> Council discussed the closure of the herring run with members of the <br /> Board of Selectmen. <br /> The Selectmen agreed to re-contact the Massachusetts Division of <br /> Fisheries Environmental Police to review surveillance/enforcement <br /> activities. In an effort to solve the poaching problem,the Board agreed to <br /> consider establishing legitimate hours and the number of catch per day <br /> permissible for the taking of herring. It was noted that presently,there are <br /> no specified rules and regulations for the operation of the herring run. <br />
