" I <br /> MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> SEPTEMBER S. 1992 <br /> I <br /> MEETING COMMENCED AT 7:00 P.M. <br /> Members Present: Deirdre Greelish, Chairperson; Ed Baker; John <br /> Ferriday, Denise Sullivan and Dan Goggin. <br /> MINUTES: <br /> John Ferriday MOTIONED to accept the minutes of August 26, 1992, <br /> 'with corrections on Page 2. Ed Baker seconded the motion and <br /> members voted to accept the minutes with corrections by a vote of <br /> 4-0, Dan Goggin abstaining. <br /> f NEW BUSINESS <br /> Harry DeRosier, Chairperson; Nonnie Ferriday; and Bob Sherman, <br /> Conservation Committee were present at the meeting to discuss <br /> Article 10, Draft 6 of the warrants for the October town meeting. <br /> This Article requests the town vote to transfer $5, 317 . 60 from the <br /> Conservation Reserved Receipts Account to the Conservation Salary <br /> & Wages Account, or take any other action relating thereto. The <br /> transfer would retain the services of their senior clerk from <br /> November 1992 through June 30, 1993 . Currently she is working 18 <br /> ` hours. Dan Goggin MOTIONED to accept Article 10, Denise Sullivan <br /> seconded the motion and members voted in favor 5--0. <br /> Also discussed was Article 11 , which requests the town to transfer <br /> $3 ,0.00 from the Conservation Reserved Receipts Account to the <br /> Conservation Expense Account, or take any other action relating <br /> thereto. Mr. DeRosier explained that the budget currently in place <br /> does not provide adequate funding for operating expenses, equipment <br /> repair, supplies or equipment. Members discussed this Article. <br /> Mr. Ferriday stated that he felt the Conservation Committee and its <br /> function is a responsibility of the town. He felt that this fund <br /> was formed to offset costs which the State was mandating on the <br /> Commission. Mr. Sherman mentioned that the department would like <br /> is to purchase a video camera for Mashpee's shoreline, a new telephone <br /> and vehicle repair. Deirdre Greelish asked why the Commission was <br /> asking for $3 ,000 rather than $2 ,062 which is what was cut <br /> originally? The Commission felt that they needed $3 ,000. Ed Baker <br /> explained that he felt it was a question of letting money sit in a <br /> fund or putting it to use. Dan Goggin MOTIONED to accept the <br /> transfer of $2,062 from the Conservation Receipts Account to the <br /> Expense Account. Denise Sullivan seconded the motion and members <br /> voted 3-1 in favor, Ed Baker abstaining. Deirdre Greelish, Dan <br /> Goggin and Denise Sullivan were in favor, John Ferriday against. <br /> Next Article 13 was discussed. This Article asks the town to vote <br /> to appropriate and transfer from the Quashnett Bog Irrigation <br /> Account the sum of $22 ,200 to the Bog Operation and Maintenance <br /> Account. Nonnie Ferriday explained that the Commission is in the <br />
