i <br /> 4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 16, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing—Taxi Fares: (continued) <br /> Being no comment,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to accept the recommendation of <br /> Sergeant Umina, Taxi Examiner and approve the Taxi Fares as <br /> proposed effective January 1,2001. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Route 130 Construction: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to place the above topic on the <br /> Selectmen's agenda. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Sergeant Umina informed the Selectmen that the Mashpee Water District <br /> has scheduled road construction along Route 130 in the area of the <br /> Museum/Herring Run for the purpose of installing water pipes on Tuesday <br /> and Wednesday of this week. <br /> The Selectmen related concern with respect to school buses and traffic <br /> congestion. Alternate routes along Route 130 during construction from <br /> 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. were considered. It was noted that four detail <br /> police officers would be present to assist motorists. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to authorize Sergeant Umina to <br /> confer with the Director of Public Works and Town Administrator to <br /> maintain an open lane for school buses, and attempt to keep one lane <br /> open for traffic flow. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
