3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 13, 2000 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Correspondence from School Department: <br /> The Superintendent of Schools remitted correspondence to the Selectmen <br /> in a memorandum dated October 12, 2000 recommending that a School <br /> Facilities Needs Committee be appointed in accordance with the Local <br /> Comprehensive Plan. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to appoint a School Facilities <br /> Needs Study Committee as recommended consisting of the following <br /> membership; a Selectman representative, a School Committee <br /> member, the Superintendent of Schools, the Town Planner and the <br /> Town Administrator. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Marsters, liaison to the School Department will serve as the <br /> Selectmen representative. The ad hoc committee will review school <br /> facilities needs and projected enrollment and report to the full Board of <br /> Selectmen in approximately one month. <br /> Corres ndence from Natural Resources Management Committee: <br /> Communication was received from the Natural Resources Management <br /> Committee dated October 30, 2000 recommending that the Board of <br /> Selectmen support an improvement to the Cape Cod Commission's <br /> Regional Policy Plan that allows a development activity in its area-based <br /> share of the watershed critical nutrient load. The committee based upon <br /> the existing and serious nutrient overload problems in the coastal waters <br /> brought the recommendation forth for the Selectmen's review. <br /> The Selectmen agreed to defer the above recommendation at this time. <br /> The matter will be discussed in detail with the Natural Resources <br /> Management Committee. <br /> The Board directed the Town Administrator to obtain a mission statement <br /> from the Waterways Commission, Watershed Management Committee <br /> and Natural Resources Committee defining specific rules, responsibilities <br /> and priorities. Their directive will be further reviewed. <br />
