Deirdre Greelish was designated Recording <br /> Secretary for this meeting. <br /> Called to order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Selection of Finance Committee Member <br /> The Committee discussed the applicants for the vacancy on the Finance Committee for <br /> the term 1993-1996. A person will be appointed to fill the position as a joint meeting of <br /> the Finance Committee and Board of Selectmen at 7:15 this evening. <br /> Deirdre Greelish nominated Marcia King to fill the vacancy, noting her strong financial <br /> expertise as her reason. Dan Goggin seconded the nomination for Ms. King, but also <br /> spoke of Mr. Wires as a viable candidate, as well as strong in Personnel Management. <br /> Denise Sullivan and John Ferriday had not been present for the interviews. Denise spoke <br /> in favor of Marcia King, based on her resume. Roger Dunivan felt that Raymond Guil- <br /> lette's resume was also strong, and wanted the opportunity to meet him. Dan said he in- <br /> vited Mr. Guillette to our meeting this evening. He did not attend. The vote was taken. <br /> Dan Goggin, Deirdre Greelish and Denise Sullivan voted for Marcia King. John Ferriday <br /> and Roger Dunivan abstained. <br /> October Town Meeting Articles <br /> Roger Dunivan distributed an internal memo to the Finance Committee members express- <br /> ing his extreme disappointment in the October Town Meeting Warrant draft. It criticized <br /> the Selectmen's process, saying they should have directed the Executive Secretary to send <br /> a memo to all department heads not to treat the October Town Meeting as an opportunity <br /> to get what they didn't get in May. <br /> The Finance Committee members agreed and spontaneously signed their names to one <br /> copy of the memo, to be forwarded to the Selectmen later in the evening when they met <br /> to review the warrant. <br /> Deirdre Greelish presented the Chairman with a "Finance Committee Policy on the Arti- <br /> cles for the Warrant for the October Town Meeting" which Dan Goggin decided to read <br /> to the Selectmen at the start of the warrant discussion. It stated, "It is the opinion of the <br /> Finance Committee that all articles which impact the on-going cost of operating the gov <br />
