Page 2
voted. Mr. Vaccaro responded to the Finance Committee that the
Board of Selectmen were not comfortable about financing the septage
plant inside 2 1/2. He explained that the Selectmen were prepared
to use the money inside 2 1/2 for expenses that were coming and
major capital needs they would use overrides. Mr. Goggin stated
that he felt the town would have the monies available. Mr. Vaccaro
stated that the Board of Selectmen would Motion to recommend the
Article as written in the Warrant but add the words Intermunicipal
.Agreement being executed. The issue was only whether it would be
funded inside or outside 2 1/2. The Selectmen agreed that the
Motion would be read to include the Intermunicipal Agreement being
signed and it would not give Selectmen authority to go outside 2
1/2 without first getting the vote of the town at a later meeting.
The Finance Committee was agreeable to this.
Next the group discussed Article 15. Mr. Goggin explained that the
Finance Committee could not get a unanimous vote either for or
against this Article. Mr. Vaccaro stated that the Selectmen were
recommending this Article. Dan Goggin asked Ms. Rommelmeyer again,
to inform the Selectmen, where the monies would go if not directly
to the school? Again, Ms. Rommelmeyer explained that they would go
into the General Fund. The Finance Committee took a vote prior to
exiting the joint meeting and voted to NOT give the money to the
school, but let it revert back to the General Fund. Dan Goggin,
Deirdre Greelish, Denise Sullivan and John Ferriday in approval.
Tony Gallo opposing and Marcia King abstaining.
The meeting adjourned at 7: 20PM. Minutes submitted by Jean Mooney,
Recording Secretary. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,
October 5, 1993 at 7 :OOPM.
