t r
Page 2
Dan Goggin stated to the members that Mr. Les Greig, Chairman of
the Board of Assessors, indicated that there were other properties
that could have been considered. Mr. Goggin felt that Mr. Greig
would probably get up at town meeting to argue this point. Mr.
Goggin also mentioned that the design engineer felt that it was an
almost impossible task to complete a design by June 1 , 1994 .
John Ferriday MOTIONED to adjourn at 10: 10AM. Marcia King seconded
the Motion. All members agreed unanimously.
The Finance Committee reconvened at 10: 20AM.
Mr. Goggin mentioned that he was informed by Paul Griffith,
Building Committee Member, that the Committee would request there
be an Article 4 to request money appropriated for land and design
fees only if Article 3 did not pass. Mr. Goggin asked Mr. Griffith
when he visited the Finance Committees table to break down the
total figure for the design fees and land cost. Mr. Griffith
stated that he could not do that because of the land situation.
The total in question was $2 .5 million. Mr. Goggin then stated
that he felt the Finance Committee should vote yes on this proposed
Article 4 even though the estimate total may be high, so that at
least the Building Committee would have the money to begin. The
Committee were still in agreement that they were going to vote NO
on Articles 1 and 2 .
The Committee agreed to adjourn again at 10: 30AM.
Minutes were submitted by Jean M. Mooney, Recording Secretary. The
next meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 1993 at 7:OOPM.
