Page 6 <br /> asked why this was in Expense? Mr. Whritenour answered that it is <br /> a contract position. Ms. King asked about the increase in wiring <br /> and plumbing inspectors salaries? Mr. Whritenour answered that it <br /> was a cost of living. Mr. Vaccaro said that they would discuss <br /> this group at a later time also. <br /> HARBORMASTER <br /> Mr. Goggin stated that it was the recommendation of the Finance <br /> Committee that the Harbormaster remain a part time employee. Mr. <br /> Whritenour asked the two boards to change the capital line item to <br /> read Harbormaster capital, rather than Harbormaster Boat. This <br /> recommendation is for a new pick up truck. Ms. Sullivan asked if <br /> it had been considered the sharing of the truck between the <br /> Harbormaster and the Shellfish Constable? Mr. Whritenour answered <br /> yes, but that the Harbormaster needed a heavy duty work vehicle. <br /> Mr. Goggin asked that if anywhere in the Harbormaster and Shellfish <br /> Constable's job description it stated that the Town had to provide <br /> vehicles? Mr. Vaccaro answered no. <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> Ms. King asked that the Selectmen again review Mr. Taylor's salary <br /> request. Ms. King stated that the Finance committee felt that Mr. <br /> Taylor should be a Step 2 , but lists himself starting at a Step 3 <br /> and moving to Step 4. Mr. Whritenour would review. $2,000 for out <br /> of state travel was questioned. It was also asked if other <br /> departments had out of state travel requests? Mr. Whritenour <br /> mentioned the School does a lot of out of state travel and that he <br /> felt Mr. Taylor should go to a very worthwhile DPW conference. Ms. <br /> King inquired into the capital line item. There is a lease request <br /> for $30,000 for a loader, medium dump truck and an F250 pickup. <br /> TRASH EXPENSE <br /> There was a slight increase for Sea Mass. Mr. Goggin asked if on <br /> the Special Town Warrant the Town was rescinding bond issues? <br /> MEDICAL INSURANCE <br /> Mr. Goggin felt strongly that the Town should get bids for Medical <br /> Insurance. There was a significant savings for Property Insurance <br /> and Workers Compensation. Mr. Goggin would like to see three bids. <br /> Mr. Vaccaro stated that the Town was self indemnified and that the <br /> Selectmen discussed this the other night. Mr. Whritenour mentioned <br /> that the Town cannot offer anything but Blue Cross/Blue Shield. <br /> Mr. Goggin asked for a copy of the legal opinion from Town Counsel. <br /> Mr. Goggin mentioned that he had met with the outside CPA Firm in <br /> regard to the Town's Audit and that the Town was in great shape. <br /> He stated that included in that report was a Management Letter <br /> which the CPA did not review at that time.
