Ms. King stated that the Education Bill states that
kindergartners will need to be full time in four to five years.
Mr. Ferriday asked if they wanted to discuss the cost of staffing
and supplies for high school? Mr. Goggin said that no it should
not be discussed tomorrow. Mr. Goggin is comfortable using the
figure in the Long Range Plan. Mr. Goggin informed her that the Finance Committee did
not recommend her increase, only that the Selectmen be consistent
in regard to elected employees. Ms. King wanted it on record that
it was her opinion that elected officials should go to the voters
to request salary increases and that they should not be in the PAP.
Mr. Ferriday also felt that the elected officials should remain
separate. This also applied to town employees such as the
Librarian, Sealer of Weights and Measures, Plumbing and Wiring
Inspector, Assessors, etc.
Finance Committee members agreed to adjourn at 8: 30PM.
