Ms. King would inquire as to why the
request for the two yard loader was decreased from $88,000 to
$35,000.
The Committee agreed not to recommend $5, 225 office furniture--
Assessors; $5,800 two computers-Planning Department; $8 ,920 radios-
Police; $8,250 Antennal satellite-Police; $17,000 4-wheel drive-
Fire; $150,000 aerial ladder truck-Fire; $20,000 4-wheel drive-
Building Inspector; $16,000 truck-Harbormaster (they thought they
could discuss in October purchasing the Harbormaster a truck and
giving the old truck to the Fire Department for inspections) ;
$21,500 4-wheel drive-DPW and lastly, $18,500 4-wheel drive pickup
truck-DPW.
SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT ARTICLES
The Articles in which the Committee felt they would not recommend
were as follows: $7,500 from the Planning Board Salary and Wage to
the Planning Department Comprehensive Plan Account; appropriating
money available for the funding of a contract between the School
Committee and the Mashpee Teachers' Association for the period
beginning July 1, 1993; $120,000 to the Betterment Reserve Account
(withdrawn) ; conflict of interest exemption for part time building
inspector; and they agreed to ask the DPW Director about his
article to place a sum of money into his Salary and Wage Account.
ANNUAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT ARTICLES
The Articles in which the Finance Committee agreed that they would
not recommend were as follows: two seasonal positions for road and
ground maintenance; create the position of Human Resource Director;
fund the Harbormaster at full time; fund an Assistant Conservation
Agent; $12,000 to the waste oil storage account; a data processing
system for various Town offices; create a revolving account for
early childhood programs; and to establish a DPW road machinery
fund. The Committee agreed that they would amend their capital
replacement article and to hold until further information was
received the Assessor's Revaluation Account and the Teachers' Early
Retirement Incentive Program. The Committee thought that the
Article to appropriate $530,059 to complete road work under Chapter
90 may be a duplicate. The remaining Articles were not money
articles.
Ms. Greelish mentioned that she had attended a computer meeting and
the concern with waiting until October was the fact that the Board
of Selectmen did not want to place a money article in the October
Warrant. Ms. Greelish will send a memo to Mr. Whritenour. She
felt that if there is a question of them waiting until next May,
they will push now.
There was a vote to adjourn at 10: 20PM. The next meeting will be
held on Wednesday, March 30, 1994 at 7:OOPM. Mr. Taylor, DPW
