The taxpayers see the cost of an employee's <br /> annual salary, but it does not contain benefits. Mr. Golub felt <br /> that a separate line item in the budget might be a possibility for <br /> handling this type of problem. <br /> Mr. Goggin asked Ms. Rommelmeyer the number of hours this position <br /> is for? It is a 20 hour position, where a new hire would be paid <br /> &8.79 per hour. Mr. Golub asked about the utilization of a <br /> temporary employment agency. Ms. Rommelmeyer stated that it has <br /> never been considered. Mr. Golub asked if this discussion could be <br /> tabled until the Town Accountant received exact numbers from <br /> Personnel regarding this position. He is aware that the Accounting <br /> Department needs a new person, but he is very unhappy with the <br /> policy and the precedent the Finance Committee might be setting. <br /> Mr. Goggin asked about the Town's report from the Auditor? Ms. <br /> Rommelmeyer stated that the Auditor would be completing its final <br /> interview and will meet with the Board of Selectmen very shortly. <br /> Mr. Goggin told Ms. Rommelmeyer that the Finance Committee would <br /> make their decision at the next meeting on December 20th regarding <br /> the transfer. <br /> School Discussion <br /> I <br /> I <br /> Ms. King received high school budget salary projections and <br /> projected additional costs for each grade in the high school from <br /> Dr. DeMoura. She explained that she used these two sheets to <br /> prepare the cover sheet which was her spreadsheet. She explained <br /> that she added figures together and deleted duplications. She <br /> handed out copies for the members review. Mr. Goggin asked if Dr. <br /> DeMoura would continue to refine this? Ms. King answered yes. Ms. <br /> King thought that it was interesting that there is a projected <br /> figure of 98 students in the tenth grade and that Dr. DeMoura wants <br /> to hire 10 teachers. <br /> Long Range Plan <br /> Mr. Bacigalupi mentioned that he had spoken to the Town Planner <br /> about the projected school enrollments. Mr. Fudala expects to have <br /> the latest projections by the end of December. Mr. Fudala did tell <br /> Mr. Bacigalupi that his numbers seemed reasonable. Mr. Bacigalupi <br /> gave out copies of the Long Range Plan that he has been preparing. <br /> The Committee all agreed that he is doing an excellent job. Mr. <br /> Goggin asked Ms. King, as school liaison, to find out why students <br /> go to Cape Cod Tech rather than the technical school on the Upper <br /> Cape. Mr. Golub stated that he was attending a luncheon at the <br /> Cape Cod Technical School in Harwich on Friday and would also try <br /> to find out any information that would be helpful. Mr. Bacigalupi <br /> also mentioned that Dr. DeMoura should be asked for a copy of the <br /> study regarding the Sandwich School report on the financial <br /> shortfall caused by Education Reform. Also they should request the <br />
