c <br /> 4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 15, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearin Continuance—Bobby B e's: (continued) <br /> The restaurant is a cultural and business aspect of the community <br /> explained Mr. Byrne in support of the alteration proposal. <br /> Selectman Caffyn related concern with respect to the atmosphere of the <br /> "Sidewalk Cafe" with an outside bar being in close proximity to an ice <br /> cream store. <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the Public Hearing to obtain comment. <br /> Diane Mulvey indicated that people tend to stand and congregate around a <br /> bar area. If there are eight seats,the amount may be doubled with <br /> additional patrons surrounding the bar area. Ms. Mulvey expressed <br /> concern with respect to this regard. <br /> Betty Nichols stated that an outside bar is not appropriate with small <br /> children in the area. She made note of a recent complaint that appeared in <br /> the local paper about the establishment of discussion. <br /> Bill Zammer indicated that he is supportive of Mr. Byrne's proposal. He <br /> noted that Mashpee Commons is receptive to the concept, and that the area <br /> if heavily policed. <br /> Being no further comment, Selectman Marsters requested a vote from the <br /> Board to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Selectman Leveille abstained. <br />
