2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 22, 1999 <br /> FY 2000 Budget Review: <br /> DPW: (continued) <br /> Mr. Taylor stated that the Department of Public Works budget reflects an <br /> additional staff increase of two full-time skilled laborers. He noted that <br /> his department has not had an increase in full-time staff in over eight <br /> years. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to the overtime budget. The sum of <br /> $34,000 is estimated in overtime for fifteen employees. The overtime <br /> budget for snow and ice is $65,000 or approximately$4,000 per <br /> employee. Mr. Taylor noted that the overtime budget is significantly less <br /> than that of the Police and Fire Departments. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Pr v <br /> Jding Prinin Power into Herita a Park: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to place the above topic as an <br /> agenda item of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Mr. Taylor requested the Board approve a change order in the amount of <br /> $7,400 to provide manpower to install 1000' of primary service from <br /> Route 130 to the Heritage Park playing fields. <br /> It was noted that Commonwealth Electric has donated the utility poles to <br /> the Town. The Air Force is expected to provide assistance weather <br /> dependent. Mr. Taylor indicated that the above change order will provide <br /> for the timely installation and testing of the lights by April 9, 1999. <br /> Discussion followed. It is the consensus of the Board to review in the <br /> future,the entirety of all project costs in advance. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the Change Order <br /> as requested in the amount of$7,400 to provide primary power to <br /> Heritage Park. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> I <br />
