4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 26, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearin —Mashyee High School Booster's Club: (continued) <br /> Laurie Murphy, President of the Mashpee High School Booster's Club <br /> was present to discuss the license application with the Board of Selectmen <br /> and interested public. <br /> The fundraiser carnival is proposed to benefit the high school. The <br /> parking lot of the school is the only facility to be utilized for the event <br /> operated by Fiesta Shows of Seabrook,New Hampshire. <br /> Enclosed for the Selectmen's review was a copy of the certificate of <br /> insurance provided by Fiesta Shows for the carnival event. The Police <br /> Department has requested that sufficient detail be provided for the <br /> activity. The Fire Department, Leisure Service Department and High <br /> School Principal were also consulted with respect to this regard. . <br /> The Selectmen requested that the School Committee be allowed to submit <br /> input and approval to the fundraiser carnival. In addition, Town Counsel <br /> and the Town Insurance Company will be consulted with respect to the <br /> certificate of insurance as provided by Fiesta Shows. <br /> Ms. Murphy also requested the Selectmen consider the issue of banners to <br /> advertise the event at the rotary and high school. <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the hearing to obtain comment. <br /> Eleanor Thaxton related concern with respect to increased traffic as the <br /> event is planned over the fourth of July. It was noted that the Annual Pow <br /> Wow is held at the Barnstable County Fair Grounds over the same <br /> weekend. <br /> The discussion of traffic and the coordination of Police detail were <br /> discussed. The Town of Falmouth and Tribal Council will be consulted <br /> with respect to this regard. <br /> The Selectmen requested the applicant to consider coordinating the event <br /> over a four or five day period. It was noted that Fiesta Shows has a <br /> previous history of carnival events which are held over the Fourth of July <br /> at the Mashpee Commons location. <br />
