2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 10, 1999 <br /> APPQINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Reorganization: <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the nomination process for the purpose of <br /> reorganization of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Selectman Leveille motioned to nominate Selectman <br /> Kenneth Marsters to serve as Char rman,of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Selectman Taylor seconded the nomination. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Selectman Marsters abstained. <br /> Selectman Taylor motioned to nominate Selectman David Leveille to <br /> serve as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Selectman Cahalane seconded the nomination. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Selectman Leveille abstained. <br /> Selectman Leveille motioned to nominate Selectman W_ ayne Taylor to <br /> serve as Clerk of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Selectman Cahalane seconded the nomination. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor abstained. <br /> Public Comment: <br /> School Committee Chairman, Theresa Cook invited members of the Board <br /> of Selectmen to attend a meeting on Tuesday, May 11, 1999 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> at the Mashpee High School to review the school budget shortfall. <br /> Voters at the May 8, 1999 election rejected the proposition 2 '/z override <br /> ballot question in support of additional funding for the schools. <br /> Mrs. Cook in concern with the million-dollar budget reduction requested <br /> the support of the Selectmen and Finance Committee. Programs within <br /> the Mashpee School system may have to be eliminated as a result of the <br /> shortfall. <br /> I� <br />
