5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 25, 1999 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Vote in Opposition to Non-Resident Tax Exemption: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to place the above topic as an <br /> agenda item of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to oppose Mr. Moutessi's <br /> proposal,and not vote in favor of a non-residential tax exemption. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Building Ins ctor--Update of Building Permit Fees: <br /> Russ Wheeler, Assistant Building Inspector was present to request the <br /> Board approve the new fee schedule proposed for building, electric, <br /> plumbing and gas. (enclosed) <br /> The proposal changes the method to a square footage formula that would <br /> be a more effective way to handle incoming applications. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to approve the Town of Mashpee, <br /> Building Department Schedule of Fees as presented effective; <br /> September 1, 1999. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Report from Waterways Commission: <br /> Waterways Commission Chairman Jim Hanks presented an updated report <br /> to the Selectmen of committee activities dated August 25, 1999. Issues <br /> presently under review include the Watershed Management Water Quality <br /> Assessment project,the dredging of the Mashpee River,jet-ski operation <br /> issues, aquaculture and the bylaws and regulations of the waterways. <br /> The Selectmen reviewed the Town Meeting warrant and articles pertaining <br /> to waterways with Mr. Hanks and the HarborMaster,Perry Ellis. <br />
