S <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 13, 1999 <br /> l <br /> APPOINTMENS AND BEARINGS: <br /> Housing Authority,—Plowing: (continued) <br /> It was noted that many Cape housing authorities maintain their snow <br /> removal without assistance from the local department of public works. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Blythe to remit correspondence to the <br /> Mashpee Housing Authority relative to the request for snow removal. <br /> If the Town were to assume responsibility, a hired sub-contractor <br /> would most likely provide the service after his roadway route is <br /> complete. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> A roval of Trash Bid Extension: <br /> The Director of Public Works recommended the Board extend the FY2000 <br /> bid of Browning Ferris Industries, Inc. for trash pickup at Town buildings <br /> and facilities effective November 1, 1999 through October 30,2000. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Blythe to accept the recommendation of <br /> the DPW Director to extend the FY2000 bid of Browning Ferris <br /> Industries,Inc.effective November 1, 1999 through October 30,2000. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Correspondence from Representative Caffyn re ardn Regis Registry of <br /> Motor Vehicles: <br /> Representative Caffyn remitted correspondence to the Selectmen dated <br /> August 30, 1999 requesting the Board support the placement of a satellite <br /> Registry of Motor Vehicles office on the Upper Cape. The Registry's <br /> current location in South Yarmouth is inconvenient to Upper Cape <br /> residents. <br />
