2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 15, 1999 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Correspondence from the Friends of the Council on Aging—Building for <br /> Stora e: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Friends of the Mashpee Council on <br /> Aging dated November 8, 1999 requesting the Selectmen approve their <br /> proposal to fund the purchase of an outbuilding no larger than 12'xl2' to <br /> be used as storage for the growing Thrift Shop. <br /> The Friends of the Council on Aging are prepared to accept full <br /> responsibility for the maintenance of the outbuilding and are committed to <br /> keep it in excellent repair. <br /> i n made b Selectman Cahalane to approve the request of the <br /> Moto y pp q <br /> Friends of the Mashpee Council on Aging to place an outbuilding <br /> adjacent to the present Thrift Shop facing Great Neck Road. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor absent. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearin —Tax Classification: <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the Public Hearing to hear public comments <br /> on the allocation of the tax levy by classification of property and to solicit <br /> public comments on whether each classification of property should have a <br /> different rate or whether the rate should be the same for all classifications_ <br /> Mr. Whritenour, Town Administrator read aloud the Public Hearing notice <br /> as published. David Bailey,Director of Assessing was present with <br /> several members of the Board of Assessors. <br /> The Mashpee Water District Commissioners were also present to vote on <br /> the manner to which the Town is taxed. <br /> Selectman Marsters, a commercial property owner stepped down from the <br /> above referenced hearing to avoid any potential conflict of interest. For <br /> disclosure, Selectman Cahalane indicated that his spouse is the owner of a <br /> small business located in the Town of Mashpee. <br />
