Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 5 <br /> February 24, 1998 <br /> Building Inspector: <br /> Mr. Hauck requested the Board increase the hours of the Assistant <br /> Building Inspector to maintain consistency in the office until the new <br /> Senior Clerk is employed. In addition,Mr. Hauck suggested that the <br /> overtime wage account be increased to cover the overload of work in <br /> his office. The issue was taken under advisement at this time. <br /> Leisure Services: <br /> Gus Frederick, Director of Leisure Services requested the Board appropriate <br /> the sum of$8,531 to the part-time salary wage account to accomplish daily <br /> scheduling tasks of the school facilities. <br /> The Board was supportive of the request to expand and schedule youth <br /> and community activities at the school facilities. <br /> Economic Development: <br /> Wayne Duchemin, Economic Development Coordinator requested the Board <br /> expand his expense budget to employ office management personnel on a <br /> consultant basis, and promote the town of Mashpee as a viable economic <br /> development entity. <br /> Mr. Duchemin indicated that an office management person would be sparingly <br /> used to perform general office management, clerical support, workshop support <br /> and data entry activities. The consultant would be compensated approximately <br /> $2,500 per year to accomplish the above tasks. <br /> I <br /> Additional expense items will focus on reprinting the Guide for Business, general <br /> marketing, developing a Bed& Breakfast brochure, sponsoring workshops, <br /> promoting assistance to the Mashpee Industrial Park, develop a campaign that <br /> utilizes web site technology, and print office stationary and business cards. <br /> The total expense breakdown for Economic Development is proposed to <br /> cost$15,100 informed Mr. Duchemin. <br /> Mr. Duchemin added that the Economic Development Committee has begun <br /> the process of investigating how to best expand the Town's economic <br /> development program efforts. <br />
