Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 4 <br /> March 16, 199 S <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Warrant RQyiew: (continued) <br /> Annual Town Meetiriz Warrant: (3/13/98) <br /> Article#14: To combine two existing van-driver positions to a <br /> full-time 37.5 hour driver position under the Council on Aging. <br /> Alec Watt, Finance Committee Chairman indicated that his <br /> committee voted against the article. Discussion followed. <br /> Consensus to eliminate article from the warrant. <br /> Article#15: To fund the repair and renovation of the Central Fire and <br /> Rescue Station and provide for the design of a future sub-station. <br /> Article removed from warrant at this time. <br /> George Baker,Fire Chief respectively requested the Board <br /> allow him the opportunity to develop a warrant article to provide <br /> for emergency funds to alleviate the present air quality problems <br /> at the fire station. Approved. <br /> Chief Baker will review cost estimates for the proposed article for <br /> the installation of a vehicle emission exhaust system. <br /> Article#19: To transfer from available funds,the sum of$2,000 to the <br /> Police Department Expense Account for the purpose of assisting <br /> the Upper Cape Domestic Violence Coalition in its efforts to <br /> relieve domestic violence. <br /> The goal of the Coalition is to combat domestic violence on the <br /> Upper Cape and assist its victims, *New proposal, funds do not <br /> presently exist in budget. <br /> Article #21: To acquire the Macdonald parcel of land, located on Back Road <br /> which is bounded on two sides by the Town's existing John's Pond <br /> Park Conservation Area. The property is within the boundaries of <br /> the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge. <br />
