Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 6, 1998 8 <br /> ** Selectmen Marsters made a motion to rescind the traffic rules/parking order for Wading <br /> Place Rd. Selectmen Frye seconded the motion. Two members were in favor, 0 opposed, I <br /> abstained (Selectmen Caffyn). <br /> Update on Cable Contract: Joyce Mason explained the cable contract will be going out to bid this <br /> year. The town is looking for input from the community as to want they want to see in the <br /> contract. <br /> A public hearing is scheduled for April 16"at 7:00 p.m. Comments can also be submitted in <br /> writing. <br /> Betty Nichols said we should ask that a TV camera be in the Selectmen's meeting room. Mrs. <br /> Mason said that is one of the items on the wish list. <br /> Selectmen Caffyn said she noticed that the Selectmen's meeting is posted but the agenda is not. <br /> She thinks it is critical to have it posted in the corridor(where meetings are posted), at the library <br /> and on cable. Also, the agenda should be spell out and describe what will be discussed, it should <br /> not be vague. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Approval of Annual election Warrant <br /> ** Selectmen Caffyn made a motion to approve the annual election warrant for 1998. <br /> Selectmen Marsters seconded the motion. All members were in favor 3-0** <br /> MMR ISSUES <br /> A meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8" at 10:00 a.m.. Compensation issues regarding <br /> cranberry bogs will be discussed. Information has been put in each Selectmen's box_ <br /> MASHPEE COMMONS ADVISORY,CQMMTTT=EE <br /> Selectmen Marsters said the next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28`h at 4:30 at town <br /> hall.. <br /> It was noted the Water District election and annual meeting is also being held that day. <br /> Mr. Whritenour will contact Fields Point about rescheduling. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Selectmen Caffyn read a statement regarding adjourning into executive session to discuss <br /> contract negotiations. She is opposed to the Board of Selectmen going into executive session to <br /> discuss the sergeants contract and personal services agreement for Mr. Whritenour, Mrs_ Mason <br /> and Mr_ Baker. No decision should be made at this time. There is already only a 4 member <br /> Board and with Selectmen Costa not present it leaves only a 3 member Board. It is not the <br /> wishes of the town to have a 3 member board making these decision. These agreements were <br /> given to the other Selectmen weeks ago for their review and she did not receive a copy until <br /> recently.. <br /> She asked if the Finance Committee was invited to the negotiations of the Sergeants contract, as <br />
