i
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
April 6, 1998 7
I
grants. Selectmen Marsters seconded the motion. All members were in favor 3-0**
APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS
Public Comment.
Jim McGonagle was present on behalf of the Lake Management Committee. The Committee
feels they have been left out regarding information about the Lake study. He wrote a letter on
January 18`„ to the Board of Selectmen, asked for a response and still has no response. This is not
the first time the Committee has not received an answer to their requests. The Committee has
intentionally been left out since the July 31'public hearing. Mr. Whritenour has directed all
correspondence regarding this matter to the Conservation Commission.
He said the Lake Management Committee was formed because this body would not take action
for years. The Dept. Of Environmental Management advised him to form a Lake Management
Committee and he did it. That Committee was voted into place to serve a purpose and they have
not been able to do that. He thinks that is wrong and he wants an answer.
He feels thev are no further along in getting the problems solved since the study was completed
in November.
Selectmen Caffyn said she has asked that Mr. McGonagle's concerns be put on the agenda at
three meetings. He has been asking for an answer and this Board has not responded to this
citizen's concerns.
** Selectmen Caffyn made a motion to put Mr. McGonagle on the nest Selectmen's agenda
(April 27') and notify the Lake Management Committee and ask them to address the
Board of Selectmen regarding their concerns and also invite the Conservation Commission.
Selectmen Marsters seconded the motion.
