Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 7 <br /> May 4, 1998 <br /> MMR ISSUES: <br /> With regards to the proposed location of the jail/correctional institute, <br /> Selectman Caffyn suggested the Board tour the site with Sheriff DeMello. <br /> In discussions relative to the actions of the Community Working Action <br /> Group, Selectman Caffyn indicated that it appears the Mashpee and Ashumet <br /> Valley residents are not involved in the process. She recommended the <br /> Board work in a cohesive effort to protect the citizens of Mashpee. <br /> It was noted that the Community Working Action Group has proposed <br /> that 2/3rd's of the Base revert to natural forest in"trade off'for the potential <br /> jail/correctional institute location near the Falmouth/Mashpee gate. <br /> In other business, Selectman Caffyn indicated that environmental consultant, <br /> Bill Fisher of Woodard& Curran will update the Selectmen on the cranberry <br /> bog and plume containment issues. *Future agenda. <br /> MASHPEE COMMONS ADVISORY COMMITTLE- <br /> The Committee is seeking an additional member of the Board of Selectmen <br /> for adequate representation. Meetings are held on Thursdays at 4.30 p.m., <br /> Mashpee Town Hall. <br /> ADJOURNMENT: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to adjourn at 7:45 p.m. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> YOTF: unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Respectively submitted, <br /> Kathleen M.
